On reduced prednisone; treatment door number three opens on Monday with an infusion of Rituxan (rituximab).
Had a better week than in the prior report. “Better” being highlighted by playing pool with my team. ๐
Much easier to eat. But the second trial of MMF led to the same conclusion as the first: my body doesnโt tolerate the drug.
Thanks to my brother in law for greasing the wheels at UW, nice to have a doctor in the family. ๐
After initial rapid response to boosted Prednisone and addition of Mycophenolate, body plateaued as far as sore improvement. Appetite, on the other hand, has continued to soar through the roof, in part because Iโm not getting a signal from the stomach that itโs full. Whether this is the drug(s) or reduced saliva due to not chewing โฆ unknown. Energy is better (fewer naps). Iโve regained a couple of pounds. And had my first setback.
Kathy did it again. Her determination to understand, her insistence on getting data vital to making informed decisions, and her fearlessness at asking questions, resulted in Dr. O.
We are very happy to have found Dr. John Olerud at UW Medicine. Much more aggressive approach to treatment. I’m feeling better and Kathy says the sores on my back are responding.
Second derm doc visit since diagnosis (on 21Dec2016). He set the next appointment for a month. A month, really???
